This section of CIPFA'S website provides access to a wide range of resources that CIPFA and others have developed, to help countries who wish to professionalise public financial management (PFM).

Reforming and improving PFM is a high priority policy for many governments around the world. Making the necessary improvements requires a number of forms of initiative and programme.

But if the improvements to PFM that can come about from changes of this kind are to be sustained in the longer term, it is essential to ensure the professionalisation of PFM in the country. Without this there is a very real danger that reform will not be long lasting, and that investment will be wasted.
